  • thank you for that song. I love it. Greetings from Switzerland. Do you know if it's possible to sing it in English? Has it any translation? Thanks.

  • You can find the Hebrew words, the English translation, and the transliteration on Wikipedia. You-Tube won't let users list the URL here, but if you go to the Wikipedia web site and type "yedid nefesh" in the search box, you'll go to the article, with all three components in columns lower down on the page.

  • @ means answer TO the person indicated???

  • My comment (Sunnyrosegarden) was "the reason for stepping on the glass is not the destruction of something beautiful. You see the negative. Why was it attributed to someone else and their comment attributed to me????

  • @sunnyrosegarden

mmmm, I guess Rabbi Rosenthal was wrong then! As if!

  • @Javjean the reason for stepping on the glass is not the destruction of something beautiful. You see the negative.

  • @Javjean accompaigned by the viola would be beautiful on 6 of the seven days of the week! ;)

  • @datoparis

    The violin, lol, stereotype!

Just kidding, that would be a very nice idea but most practising Jews don't make music on Shabbat in remembrance of the temple's former glory. Another uninteresting fact: it's the same reason you step on a crystal glass on the day of your wedding-the destruction of something beautiful.

Furthermore, with the violin would it be playing just as accompaniment or do you think it would work playing the same melody?

  • beautiful

  • Hazak!!

  • Magnificent voic, it would be worthwhile a richer accompaniedment like a violin etc.....

    Thank you !

  • Beautiful! Shabat Shalom
