A month-long slump is finally over for Talita Antunes and Renata Ribeiro as the young Brazilians rebounded from a 16-13 deficit in the second set to score 25 of the next 35 points in the women's gold-medal match to capture the top podium spot at the $400,000 World Series 13 on the Plages du Prado on Saturday. Seeded sixth in the 10th women's Swatch stop this season, Talita and Renata scored a 19-21, 21-19, 15-7 win in 57 minues over second-seeded Chen Xue and Xi Zhang of China to share the $32,000 first-place prize in the eighth meeting between the two teams. These Brazilians win most of the tourneys in the world tour, then the Olympic games come and they play so poorly, I really don't understand it! The Americans made them look pathetic!
