A video of an N Gauge model railway based on the former GWR Station at Abingdon in Oxfordshire. It was built by Brant Hickman in the early 90s and featured in the March 1996 issue of 'Railway Modeller'.

  • Where did you get these GWR locos? c:

  • Hi SnowflakeTH,

The engines are a Dapol 14xx with autotrailer, Bachmann/Farish Diesel Railcar, Bachmann/Farish Pannier Tank and Dapol sloped tank Prairie.

They came from GeeDee Models in Nottingham and Trainlines of Derby but I'm afraid I don't remember which from each shop.

    Cheers,

    Brant

  • Lovely! Can we expect a video of Rorgyle soon? Saw it today at Braunstone, very impressed!

  • Hi Sleepyrider

Thank you for your kind comment. We thoroughly enjoyed the Braunstone show and are hoping, if Chris and John organise another exhibition and we get invited, to show Abingdon there next year.

I am hoping to get a video of Rorgyle done in the near future.

    Thank you again.

    Brant

  • What company makes the most realistic/best quality model trains?

  • EXCELLENT... so much better than these layouts with extra high speed trains...lovely.... you've certainly re-created a 'gods wonderful railway' here

  • Is this model kept anywhere for the public to see. i can just about remember Abingdon station when it was still in operation. Also remember when they cut down the glass canopy and a crane that was near the platform. wonderful model. I wasdestined to be transferred from Oxford rail station to Abingdon in 1976, but because of frequent delays by the management I decided to leave for a better paid job.

  • Are the buildings self build ?

  • Wonderful layout. Video could have done with some music to back it though.

  • Very realistic modelrailroad. Lots of details.
