From Chris:

I've always believed that if you're going to do something, then you should do it right. Hence the cinematography, perfect location, and amazing racecar used in the production of my Octane Academy entry. Hope you enjoy it!

About Chris:

I'm twenty-eight years old, born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. I've grown up around all things motorsports. My dad took me to drag races in Pomona, CA when I was younger. I remember hanging out in the pits with some of drag racings legends and saying I want to live as dangerously as they do. My first life experience of wheel-to-wheel GT racing was at Willow Springs when I was 14. My uncle took me to one of his club races and seeing him race made me crave the sport even more. I started racing my Subaru STi in 2004 in local auto cross events where I quickly determined that my passion for racing was going to take over my life. In 2006 my local racetrack Miller Motorsports Park opened and from the moment I got behind the wheel of a fully prepped racecar I knew this is something I would do the rest of my life. In my second year of racing I took 2nd in the championship and learned a lot during the season. It takes more than just passion and a well-prepped racecar to be successful; it takes sacrifice, guts, and "open ears" to be the best and that's what I've spent most all of my free time doing! The past two years I've been developing my race craft in a 125 stock moto shifter kart. I can honestly say it's been an amazing experience and makes sense that most of the world's greatest drivers got their start in a go-kart. As I mentioned in my video, this past year I took 2nd in the Utah Karting Championship. I'm fortunate enough to race among some of the country's best talent and their expertise has enabled me to be competitive in a short period of time. Racing is my passion; I work so I can race. It's as simple as that.
Outside of racing I like to stay physically fit. I have completed 11 marathons, and its not because I love to run but because I love finishing something that I've worked hard for. If chosen for the Octane Academy you will see that I will carry this same drive into the competition. I submitted this application with the intention of competing, and I will compete to win the Octane Academy.
