The Oregon Trailer

After our disappointing loss in the Nintendo Short Cuts Competition, Team Awesome decided to focus it's attention on how to create a video that would win us truckloads of trophies and statues. Taking our cue from the Academy, we considered doing a film about the mentally disabled, a famous musician that had recently died, or anything starring a prostitute with a heart of gold. Then, we saw There Will Be Blood while playing The Oregon Trail and a revelation hit us...we're never gonna win any awards. Also, the pairing of these two things would be like PB & J -- perfect.

Team Awesome is proud to announce the completion of their newest video, The Oregon Trailer. Part parody of the Academy Award winning film, There Will Be Blood, part parody of the Apple IIe classic, The Oregon Trail, the trailer is the next in a series of video game trailers that has launched Team Awesome from obscurity...into slightly less obscurity.

This is my favorite one yet. i loved the contra movie trailer a lot, but this is awesome. What program do you use to use the video game characters and land in the live action film if you dont mind me asking.

We used Final Cut to remove the greenscreen. It has a filter in it that does the trick

Sorry...to put the video game characters into the live action, we used Adobe Photoshop to cut out the characters and placed them into Final Cut.

I'm from Oregon. I can say without a doubt that the actors in this movie are pronouncing the name of the state incorrectly. One of the uploader comments stated that it's pronounced ORYGUN. No. No it is not. It's not pronounced ORE-GONE either really. It's more pronounced like ORGAN. Like the instrument, or the things inside you.
