Love this song!! My grandmother and the late Tu'ivakano(Kiu), are first cousins. Ko'ete fanongo aipe he'ete kei leka ka taa e fasi ko'eni ko'enau talamai koe fa'u 'a Tu'ivakano kia Afaa Vaea. (part 2) (at the time, Queen Salote was in NZ for her yearly visits) but as soon as she gets back then Tu'ivakano can ask her. My grandma knew that the Queen would say yes, so the night before she arrived back in Tonga, my grandma eloped with my grandpa. That way, she said, she did not talangata'a, because she was never told to marry Tu'ivakano.

She still plays the piano and sings all the old tongan hiva kakala. We love to listen to those old songs. Thanks again for this song, Milika!

Hi Milika, I was surprised to run into this song. This is the first time I've heard an actual group singing it but I always hear my grandma sing and play it on the piano. After I read to her all the comments on this page, she laughed and told me ke fai atu ha ki'i fakatonutonu.
