Check out our Video and Book Products at www.sinistercinema.com. - Barbara Steele, George Riviere. An excellent horror film about a writer who accepts a bet that he'll be alive in the morning after spending the night in a haunted castle. Top notch, supernatural horror as Barbara portrays a tortured member of the living dead. (1964)
I wish wish wish i could put this DVD on my computer to make a properly good tribute for Barbara... but anyway, it is one of my favourite films and so gothically beautiful

Aside from Nightmare Castle, this is Barbara's first best film.
The castle, the atmosphere, the visuals of Barbara and her barely hidden charms as she ethereally walks down the halls...it all makes a wonderful movie in many ways.
I have the Synapse disc with the "lost" dialogue that's in French with English subs, which is quite rare from what I understand. In any case you can't go wrong with this one!

It's better than 'Nightmare Castle' which has an overwritten plot.

this film is better than Nightmare Castle because that film's plot is too over written, she plays twins, her husband kills her and her cheating lover, then he restores the face of the woman he really loves, then the ghost of his wife comes back, then her twin cousin is haunted by the murders and becomes crazy..too much.
