  • I have listened to virtually every version on Youtube, and this is the best IMHO. I'd prefer a full, orchestral choir... but this ensemble really nails the piece.

  • @charliemchenry Thank you so much for this wonderful compliment. In fact, I recently uploaded this video again, with better sound equalizing (trying to bring out the bass a bit more). Check my latest upload. Thanks for appreciating!

  • Everyone's a God damned critic. It sounds fantastic.

  • Thank you! :-)

  • Most beautiful version I've seen on Youtube!!! Lovely job! Those who think this is too alto heavy- have you not sung much Morten Lauridsen? He loves altos. Plus in this piece, the altos have the only non diatonic note. They make the Virgin Mary special. The altos are doing exactly what they should for this music.

PS I am a soprano, so it is not bias by me =)

  • amazing!!!

  • Still my favorite choral piece of all time. Thank you for doing it justice. It's beautiful.

  • you guys are on par with the nordic choir version of this. excellent job!

  • Hands down the best version on YouTube. This group really understands the spirit of the piece. I think you have to be physically attractive as well as a good singer to be in this ensemble. Love how the tenor at 3:52 practically leaps heavenward to get his note.

  • @TomH618 Morten Lauridsen composed it.

  • Boys love altos. They're sassier :)

  • The next time I'm in Brussels I'm coming to catch up with you blasts from my RHUL past! What a lovely opname - I've only recently discovered this piece (and his Ave Maria) and am enthralled by it :) Bravo Helen!

  • Beautiful!

  • Interpretation very hard, without legatto. But the sound of the chorus is very beautiful and perfect tuning!

  • This is the most awe inspiring choral piece that there is; but who composed it originally? So beautiful.
