Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is due to start a Latin American tour in Venezuela on Sunday.

The visit comes amid rising tensions between Iran and the United States and the European Union over its nuclear programme.

Reza Marashi of the National Iranian American Council also speaks to Al Jazeera about his views on the trip.

Al Jazeera's Adam Raney reports from Caracas, on what people there make of the visit.

  • If the people of Latin America value democracy, freedom and human rights they will strongly oppose Ahmedinejad's visit. Lest they want their own leader to get idea's about how to turn Latin America into a dictatorship.

American imperialism is the lesser of 2 evils in this case. It can be, and is being, fought because Americans have the freedom to speak out against it.

  • @gamesgoodfirebad - I don't think I brag about it, I had to say it in my defence since I made a horrible mistake on spelling "everyone" wrong (which by the way is such a simple word). Oh well, I guess I'll pay more attention on my spellig next time.

  • @gsxxxrk5 It's just another language

People only learn other tongues,If it suits their purposes. In you're case, you randomly brag about knowing 2 other tongues.Hence, you Try-Hardington

  • Iran has been isolated by USA and so he has to find another buyer. What is he suppose to do. We want to start a Illegal war with Iran with absolutely no evidence of weapons of mass destruction. We are making many enemies, when we don't need to. We are ahead when it comes to technology and instead of flouridshing our politicians have sold us out. We need to talk to representatives or email them and tell them how we feel.

  • @gamesgoodfirebad - I wonder why people think that no one in this world is capable of learning something else other than english....can you (even though I don't know you I'm sure you are a very educated person) help me come up with a theory? I would greatly appreciate it.
