Thats a 50 inch Vizio P50HDTV from back in 2006. They have a newer version of that TV at SAMS and Costco, called the VP50 and the P50HDTV20A for 1399 and 1499. Its a good deal. Both are 1080i rated TVs. For a little bit more you can get a 52 inch 1080P LCD, or for 1499 a 47 inch 1080P.
And finally you need DirecTV HD or HD Cable for some of the ESPN and other HD sports channels. But remember, regular stations, NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC all broadcast in HD most evenings for free.
