Pileated Woodpecker

Pileated woodpecker from March 2nd 2008 (Trenton Ontario). Had the good fortune to come across this beautiful bird while walking through a local park. I came out into the open and there it was - approx 20 feet away at eye level. I quietly set up my camera and took the footage you see here. It was engrossed in its hole making and didn't even seem to be aware of my presence.

Hi thanks for commenting. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have it allow me to tape it for so long. It was a cool experience. I know that there is a specific reason why they don't get headaches, but I kinda forget what it is. I'm thinking that perhaps they have thicker bone structure in their head or something. Of course, maybe they do get headaches and just don't mention it to anyone!
