@HeyTom1...I had the same thought about DNA on the Envelope. Unfortunately, it has been so long that if it wasn't Hauptmann, whomever it was is already dead of old age. Such a sweet little guy. And then his little body left in the woods and picked at by animals. So sad. He's on my list of people I want to meet in Heaven. Or maybe I'll meet his murderer in Hell.
@HeyTom1..I had the same thought about DNA from the kidnapper licking the envelope. There are so many unanswered questions with this case. Such a sweet baby. So sad that he nit inky died, but then his little body was picked on by animals in the woods. He is on my list of people I want to meet in heaven. Or, maybe I'll meet his murderer inh
@HeyTom1 But with cases where no one has clue as to who the Villan is example The Boy in the Box 1957 thats when people get intrested.
Plus DNA testing is expensive and people would rather that money went to 1. solving crime that happened today rather than a lifetime ago 2. Hauptmann was convicted for his crime and he paid for it with his life. 3 there our losse ends with the case but nothign hard coure that says other wise other wise the case would have been placed under re-view
@HeyTom1 Becuase he was charged and it is generally belived that he did it despite the douts that is good enough for people.
if it is known who the villian( shall we say) is even if it wasnt proven in a court of law example the The Cleaveland Torso killings in the 1930s Francis E. Sweeney is generally belived to be the killer but he walked because of his political conections.
A simple DNA Test on The Sealed Ransom Envelopes and Stamps To Identify who licked those envelopes and stamps would confirm if it was Bruno Hauptmann sending those Ransom Notes..Why hasn't this been done?
How would someone know the exact room the baby would be in and the exact time it would be safe to kidnap the baby?...could someone have handed the baby out of the window to another person on the ladder?...could it have been an inside job?
