Fox and Friends discuss Tennessee HB 0503 which states

"As introduced, authorizes person with a handgun permit who is not consuming alcohol to carry handgun in building where beer or alcoholic beverages are being served subject to posting of property provisions, and adds violation of possessing a firearm where alcohol is served as a reason for revocation of a person's handgun permit."

The bunch are not informing the whole truth. It is not bars that this bill is aimed or design for. It is for any place that is public serving alcohol that makes at least 60% of gross income from food sales.

This bill adds another exemption to the prohibition against carrying a firearm where alcoholic beverages are served for on premises consumption for any person who meets the following conditions:

(1) The person has a handgun carry permit;
(2) The person is not consuming any alcoholic beverage; and
(3) The person is in an establishment that is open to the public, serves alcoholic beverages, and derives 60 percent or more of its gross annual revenue from the sale of food.

HOW MANY TIMES DID THEY SAY THAT CCW HOLDERS WERE NOT PERMITTED TO CONSUME ALCOHOL WHILE CARRYING IN THESE ESTABLISHMENTS? Any conscientious CCW holder won't drink while carrying no matter where they are. We heard these same unsubstantiated outcries when they passed this in AZ and guess what... no incidents.
