A 15-year-old girl in Fort Pierce is facing a felony battery charge from a curfew violation incident in which a city police officer struck and pepper sprayed her after she bit him. Did the officer go too far? Criminal defense attorney and former police officer Don Schweitzer provides legal commentary on this topic while on FOX News.

  • The officer was clearly in the right and he was just knocking some sense into her, She got what she deservered.

If on the other-hand you thourght that was brutal take a look at russian cops, they don't fuck around (not to imply Americans do of-course).

  • She got what she deserved. Its funny how the defense lawyer found nothing wrong with what she did. The prosecutors answers were complete common sense and you don't have to be a prosecutor/cop to understand that.

  • Officer Gilroy showed incredible restraint! He gave her LOTS of opportunities to lawfully comply. No matter how much restraint our law officers show, whiny activists will caterwaul if the arrestee is other than a European-American adult male--as if being "of color", teenaged, or female should serve as a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card.

  • This cop in my opinion, did not go far, if she had listen to the officer, only thing at worse she could've got is a minor ticket and a ride back home, she bought on herself here.

  • I agree with the lady.. he was clearly wrong, he did hurt her, and with how all the police in amerika handle things.. they will continue to get this type of treatment.. bc they are constantly abusing their power!

  • true. the officer was in the right. Why don't people realize that when an officer or Trooper tells you to do something, you better do or he will make you do it, in some form or another. Sometimes, if he has to, he will use force

  • at least she wasnt tased!
