I see an accountant & a musicologist in a dark room listening to jazz solos... and recording every repeat of a 1-bar phrase that's been previously played in a song... & at the end of a century (because there's a lot of recorded jazz out there) they come out and send a bill for copyright infringement to the artists- and heirs of artists- that have transgressed the Law. What a lovely picture!.. and no fantasy. Anyone following the Men at Work trial re "kookaburra"- a 4-bar tune- gets it. ^..^
