Basic totorial on how to change the background image in RCT3 (I am using the Platinum Edition) using the Scenario Editor built into the game. This doesn't add new backgrounds, just uses some that are supplied with the game.

  • you can change back rounds thats awesome i didnt know that

  • @odamcc

    Then I'm glad I made this. ;-)

  • thank you so much for this again i was wondering how did all this ^^ though the only thing sad is that i wish there was a to find or make more backgrounds for your parks.that would be cool

  • @RollerCResi

    You are welcome.

I am thinking there probably is a way... but making a background that works as a sort of tile that goes 360 I think takes more than just using any picture file. Anyway... there are other editors out there I think that some people are working on that maybe would deal with this not sure. There is also a fan based RCT type game some people have been working on for a while now. Maybe theirs would have it?

  • Does anyone knows how to change the entry?

  • @Jhosep812

There are two or three ways that I am aware of, though I have never tried.

    1) Use an invisible entry (CSO) then place a custom one.

    2) Bury a standard entry under ground, then place a custom one directly over it on the surface.

    3) Use a spawn point (CSO) to have peeps start where ever you want.

  • I find the in-game screen recorder to be laggy for me too. Perhaps try Fraps, or run in windowed mode and use Camtasia? Depending on how good you video card is, you can still run the game in 1280x720. Use Camtasia to record in avi format with your favorite codec and then use Virtual Dub to sync the audio if needed. Thanks for the tut on the backgrounds!

  • @komilatte

It's you, you were really laggy... JK :-) Yeah, it was pretty bad. I decided it didn't matter much for the subject matter, but something I will need to address.

    Thx...
