    best tips on the web. bought an everlast welder, tig fingers. it might take me a while to save enough for that cool welding table though.

    The method that you use is good for anticipating the gap closing because of the shrinkage forces applied by the weld. He has his gap set up just wide enough to where the wire will lay into the joint without falling through. It eliminates the chance that he will poke the rod through the backside and prevents excessive reinforcement on the ID of the pipe.

    hey buddy I just wanted to know what size gap you were using cause like I usually have a 5/32 gap and use a 1/8 rod which fits inside the gap but when I saw you doing your root it almost looks like you have the rod on top of the bevel I just wanted to try it your way but wanted to make sure the fit was like yours if you could let me know that would be great.
