For one very special night you will be transported from the depths of this years doom and gloom to the outer reaches of classic euphoria at REWIND; NYE @ Pod featuring Daft As Punk (Irelands Finest Daft Punk Tribute), David De Valera and Dave Salacious
As you adjust to the forgotten house, techno and disco sounds of Daft As Punk, David De Valera and Dave Salacious the troubles of 2010 will dissipate as you nose dive into a nostalgic, old school and unquestionably happier time. We're talking 8old school 80's and 90's. Robin S : Show Me Love , Dj Rolando : Knights Of The Jaguar, Inner City : Good Life, Orbital : Chime, Southside Spinners : Luvstruck and Leftfield : Open Up etc..
Lets face it ; we are not going to see Daft Punk play on these shores any time soon. Daft As Punk create an experience that is as close to the real thing as it gets. Having played to over 10,000 people since they started doing live shows in 2008 (including 2 sell-out shows in Tripod), Daft As Funk aim to please with an excellent & well-crafted loaded live set using Ableton Live, an array of effects, some custom made costumes and amazing live visuals. REWIND NYE @ POD will be one of the biggest nights in Dublin, as the legendary venue counts down to 2011. For those of you into house and techno you'll no doubt have heard the name David De Valera (Winner of this years Best Resident DJ IMMA) at some point in time. David De Valera exemplifies a new generation of Irish DJ. Operating in the same house / techno milieu as his international peers, De Valera shows that there's more to the Irish electronic music scene than many people really appreciate. David knows house and techno like no one else so you can expect a barrage of top-notch classic floor fillers in Crawdaddy this New Years Eve.
Salacious: Sa-la-cious-(deriv. of sal?re to jump, move spasmodically). Transmission & Family resident Salacious will descend on REWIND with a classic libertine music policy for the revamped Pod room. Salacious is not averse to taking a request or two as he thrives on jumping genres, from Alternative to House, Indie to Electro, Disco to Retro-Pop and more in between. REWIND for Salacious will be about blending the fun & unpredictable aspects New Years Eve with a sing along, jump around attitude with no other motive then to just let loose.
