The Missing Kelly Gang horses

I say 2 mounts were found belonging to the Kelly Gang
of 1880 after the Glenrowen stoush, Mirth and Music, only two? What about Minnie the black Race mare taken from Jerilderie during the bank holdup.
We know the other two men Dan Kelly and Steve Hart
would have wanted thoroughbred horses also to outrun the following police, very important if you were being chased by the traps in those days. In Ned Kelly a short life by Ian Jones
A very interesting book, it tells of the robbery of the bank at Jerilderie, while there 7-10th February 1879, Steve Hart took a black race mare called Minnie when asked to by Ned Kelly, did she disappear to be sold or was Dan Kelly riding her at Glenrowen in 1880?
Having been a Jockey myself and having chased ordinary horses with a race horse I know you can chase down horses and yard them easily on a quicker mount
My money is on a fast mare.

Kelly Ghosts! Dan Kelly lived and Steve Hart too, though the police thought they had fried. These men were written off it's true, though two bush rangers hadn't died Glenrowan caused a cover up, and innocence died in the fire. The higher ups were sold a pup, by the coppers some admire. The Kelly mob had got a win, two drunkards paid the price. To like free grog their only sin, Father Gibney didn't look twice. The Kelly's said they died in the fire, their bodies burnt to ash. To cover up I'd be a liar, to save two friends so rash. Many of these coppers left the force, and their masters did retire. The Glenrowan inquiry was the source, yes that bloody awful fire. Two men so dead and written off, would appear amongst the mire. Their ghosts were walking tall and soft, up near Hebel's border wire. one horse breaker earned an honest wage, no rope for him no noose. Dan lived till a fair old age, died unfettered and foot loose. by D H Johnson. Dan Kelly alias Fred Layton, Dungle Bore.and later Collarenebri

Steve Hart alias Fred Layton died in Calcutta India of some disease.
When his mate Dan Kelly returned to Australia he used this old alias Fred Layton of Dungle Bore.Double cover50 possible Dan Kellys , red herrings almost secretly presented themselves , now to cover where the real one worked and lived out his life. At this time 1885-1920 Australia was packed with ex convicts, deported Irish , and anyone who got on the wrong side of the Pommy overelords and masters in Britian. People who rode into your camp would ask first any traps about? meaning Police. This community of excons were very suspicious people who had their own way of covering their friends tracks. This is why the Bushrangers had such great support . Famous Brisbane Psychic Jenny in 1998, verified Dan Kelly was Fred Layton , change the names she said. Jenny told my sceptic mum the dress colour and pattern exactly that sister Viney wore to a dance in 1944, and who was with her then, Jack Hoath and Bobby Lindsay etc...djohnson@scullywag.com
