Hurricane Productions performed its original instructional dance, the Apache-Slide, last night at the 2009 DJ Expo 'Mobile Kickoff Party' hosted by Mike Walter of Elite Entertainment. The party was held at the Casbah in the Trump Taj Mahal - the site of Wednesday's DJ of the Year competition.

The Apache-Slide is a combination of two popular dances - the Mississippi Slide and Apache (Jump on it). Hurricane Productions created the dance as an easy instructional dance to use at all parties for all ages.

  • Yeah, Sir Mix A-Lot had "Jump On It"... but the particular version being used in this slide is by Jersey's Sugar Hill Gang.

  • It's actually a combination of both Sugar Hill Gang's "Apache" and Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Jump On It". There are certain parts where we Sir Mix-A-Lot's version just sounds better, especially towards the end which is not included in this clip.

    Thanks for the comment.
