Cessna 150 landing at KHQZ Mesquite Metro

My first landing as a private pilot. I'll save everyone the trouble of the most obvious critical comments: Yes, I'm high (intentionally) and off the centerline (unintentionally) for most of the final, and touched down with more airspeed than ideal. But 150s land short enough that I still made the 1000' taxiway.

From the video it looks as if you had enough height to clear a 100 ft. obstacle and appears you landed half way between 1000 ft marker and 2000 ft marker. If my math is correct and you made the first taxiway entrance then that would mean you landed in less than 500 ft.... I would say that's pretty darn good....lol

Yeah, that's about the distance I figure. My checkride was just before this, and on the short-field I got it stopped at about the 500-foot mark. The examinet wanted me stopped befor ethe first taxiway, so I only used about half of it.

Thanks for the kind words. My checkride examiner gave me a no-flap landing (after a slip) the day before. It was something my CFI had never had me do, so of course I landed the thing and it immediately became airborne again when I relaxed (another lesson learned), after the examiner was already complementing the landing. I scrambled to set it down gently again. Her comment, "nice..." instead became "nice recovery!"
