Otters don't damage a fishery. They are a part of the ecosystem. Only whiny self righteous humans think they are entitled to everything at the expense of other creatures.
-
@007Greenus if you put in artificial fisheries, animals will go for the bait you've laid. you can't expect otters to understand 'private property.' that is ignorance.

Oh dear not the cuddly cute animal the animal lovers would have you believe it is,the fish should enjoy the same protection this apex killer gets.

I'd like to say well done to the angling community for shooting its self in the foot, the rabid comments (and language) posted here against a natural predator on behalf for your pastime (and introduced species) has only turned more of the general public against you and you sad pastime. Check out angingtrust forums for more weird views on conservation (actually the antithesis of conservation).

There is some people talking some absolute shit on here. People pay alot of money to stock their lakes with fish to have these little cunts come along and kill them. I think all fishery owners should look to kill any otter seen anywhere near their lake
-
@prote101 the otters were there doing just fine until humans drove them out in the first place. silly territorial apes.
-
@scorchedearthdj 75% of otter kills are for fun, like a kat gets a bird as a present for you!! leaves it on the door step. peaple say the otters should be fully protected, well i say a re introduced species has less rights than what could be a 50 year old carp minding its own business, all otters around any fishery be it natural or man made, should be introduced to a truely wild habitat, like antarctica.
-
@scorchedeartdj otters are part of the eco system because do gooders like you have re introduced them into the wild un naturally, just likeamerican signal crayfish have taken over some waters the damage otters do is much worse for us people out there looking after the rivers and lakes as apposed to you who sits behind his keyboard whining about animals rights, grrrr
-
Carp are not native animals and fishing is a sport. Otters are native and they catch fish for survival. If there is enough fish left in the pond for the fishermen to play 'fishing' then go ahead and have your so called fun but if nature has beaten you to it then tough. Otters are no were near the levels they once was even with the reintroduction schemes i might add.

i agree with scorchedearthdj

@Nostrinian elmer fudd will do his thing and then strategically place the corpse. Why do you think so many badgers end up at the roadside?
-
No one really cares about carp.. They are scavenger's, they eat the bass's eggs, ugly looking fish
scorchedearthdj, what a load of rubbish, part of the ecosystem maybe but not in the numbers that they have been RE INTRODUCED in. It is a pity that people like you cant seem to realise that there is not enough food available NATURALLY for the numbers released and that as a result they are decimating fisheries! I would suggest that you join the real world and don't post comments on things you obviously know nothing about!!
