In 1981, seven young entrepreneurs in Mumbai set out to create a global corporation from scratch. The company they founded, Bangalore-based Infosys Technologies, has become a US$4 billion information technology powerhouse, with more than 100,000 employees. "We focused on building a world-class company," said S. "Kris" Gopalakrishnan during a recent Wharton Leadership Lecture. Gopalakrishnan described what it took for him and his six co-founders to see their vision through, and how Infosys envisions its future in the IT sector.

  • Infosys is very good company to work for.

  • Which US based companies are you referring to Mr.Cray0308

  • unfortunately all offshoring companies have the same culture. its worse in other companies. they dont see employees as humans but rather as resources, like computers, who can be moved around and used. my advise to you is to find a job with an US based MNC that treat their employees like humans. If you cant, stick with infy for 2-3 years and move on.

  • its up to you to find out the truth. i am an ex-infosys employee who left completely disgusted with the poor middle management, subjective appraisals, semi literate project managers and extremely long working hours. Infosys has refused to take part in the employer survey this year. any guess why??

My wife currently works for infosys, she travels to another city and stays in the campus. they switch of ventilation in the rooms at 8 in the morning to save money, employees be damned is their belief

  • superb dude.... m about to join infosys.... in october.... is this what u r saying really true, happening out their?

  • offices have the air conditioning switched off at 5 pm, even as there are hundreds of employees in the offices. the fancy buildings are a swankier version of chinas sweatshops. employees who demand better treatment are threatened with poor appraisals and a bad salary hike. there are probably atleast 50% of the projects in every IBU that run behind schedule. Delivery is only because of the long hours put in my the lower level employees.

  • what a load of BS. There is no innovation worth its name happening there. Infosys has very smartly handled media relations to the point where the propaganda information out there are downright lies.

Infosys survives on underpaid, overworked employees. Infosys middle management is extremely weak and is probably the weakest link in the compny right now. projects are underbid, and then employees are forced to work long hours (sometimes upto 20 hours at a stretch) to catch up. -ex infosys worker
