Tax payers cannot moan about cyclists not using the facilities taxes are used to build. It is not law to use cycle lanes (unless on a motoway). Cycle lanes normally slow cyclists down and are ill-quality. I have a cycle lane in a town near me but i never use it because it is dangerous and potholed and takes up onto the pathway every so often. If drivers just slow down a bit and understand that roads have SPEED LIMITS! not TARGETS! then the world will be a better place, full of calm people.

Sorry only just seen this vid. The "cycle path" is the pavement and isn't very wide (especially opposite "Bleak House" pub where it is especially dangerous). It was not specially built. I got run over at the 6 crossroads when I was pushing my bike over (in a gap between stationary cars). No one looks for peds or bikes there, just look to the right for a gap in traffic. Therefore being in the road, as entitled, is the safest place to be.

@scaredymike I got run over at the 6 crossroads roundabout on A320, pushing my bike across, lady just drove straight into me. Luckily not serious. The road is far safer place to be.

@M25Camera isn't the point why you think cyclists shouldn't be on this stretch of road. they have have right to use it so all you need to do is take a bit of care , be patient and no problem.
Missing the caption "driver obstructing highway & threatening cyclist" perhaps ?
That "cycle lane" looks dangerous and ill-conceived to me - pretty much unlit and yet apparently shared with pedestrians and crossing driveways, road entrances and garage forecourts repeatedly. Presumablty potholes & debris too. Would be almost impossible to make safe progress using that.
How do cycles cross those massive roundabouts from the bike lane ?

@scaredymike
The traffic islands are part of the National Cycle Network

Some network !
Just looked at the shore's road roundabout on google maps - following the chertsey rd "bike path" would involve riding or walking ACROSS 3 lanes of rush-hour roundabout traffic (2 on, 1 off) in the dark, followed by the same again across woodham rd. Whose safety and convenience were you championing again ??
Still, at least the ambulance would be easy to direct to the incident
I'd take my chance on the road with that other bloke if I was commuting by bike

What's the difference between a cyclist pushing a bike and a pedestrian? Not at all! If a pedestrian can cross the road safely at the traffic islands at the roundabout, I can't see any reason why cyclists cannot. At busy times, there is always opportunity for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road when vehicles wait for a safe time to enter the roundabout from the give-way line.

Ah, I can see why you're describing him as irresponsible/inconsiderate now. You're wrong, of course, but I can see your perspective.
You're happy for him to dismount, wait, walk at every roundabout and also any driveway and sideroad (as well as having to share the unlit metre-wide path with walkers and bikes travelling the opposite direction)
Still seems odd, then, that you won't countenance a few seconds delay for the drivers.
.. but then that's inconvenient for YOU isn't it ?!

ah ... the point here is why cyclists not wanting to use that cycle lane?
it is NOT an inconvience for me as a driver, but i would say the cylists are not making good use of facilities paid by tax-payers (consider how much money has been spent on designing the cycle lanes, public consultation, the actual construction of the cycle lane and the facilities associated with them).
drivers do take extra care approaching cyclists but we also want some respect from the cyclists too :)
