Prof. Michel Chossudovsky, Director of the Centre for Research on Globalization weighs in on the insurrectionary nature of the Syrian conflict and its potential to generate a larger regional conflict in the Middle East.

As the Syrian crisis enters its 16th month, the recent massacres in Houla and Hama have revived calls for foreign intervention and the toppling of President Bashar al-Assad. US Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice has recently hinted that the United States would soon take action outside of the Annan plan and the authority of the United Nations if the persistent violence in Syria continued unabated. While the Syrian opposition severs its commitment to uphold Kofi Annan's peace plan and openly calls for a UN- no-fly zone to replace the monitoring mission, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has announced a new transition plan that would remove Assad from power completely. As outside forces plan a post-Assad transition strategy, the people of Syria are fast approaching a historic crossroads, of which may lead to a broader sectarian conflict that would forever reshape the Middle East.

I do not believe for one second that Assad killed those women and children. I think it was the Rebels who killed them so to blame Assad and of course they had the West’s blessing in doing this. A blind man can see what’s going on and who’s behind the chaos in Syria.

SREBRENICA "massacre" all over again to conquer and occupy Syria as it was done in Bosnia using the White House cooked pretext to put fascists in power as Izetbegovic was put in Bosnia.

Pity the nation that welcomes its tyrants !

G.R. has good info, but only one message.

A year ago we knew the FSA was a sham and the western powers are behind the uprising. How many more articles and videos do you need to make telling us what you've told us 100 times?

Howabout some new info or a new angle G.R.?

Even though the U.N's credibility is deteriorating, yet another country will be ravaged by super power tyranny and the humanitarian intervention card has been dealt to support the invasion of sovereign Syria; is there anything the international community can do to lessen human suffering?

I don't think that Prof. Michel Chossudovsky was saying that Assad killed those women and children! He said that a militia supported by the West (Western Countries) were responsible! Listen to the interview and don't just skim through!

You are the one making claims. If you care the burden is on yourself to provide evidence supporting your claims.---Then go tell THAT to the US Gvt and mainstream media and not me. I'm just saying they are lying and I do not believe it for one second! It is for the Gvt amd news media to prove it, since they are the accusers. As said, only the stupid and naïve would believe Assad killed those people.

You are the one making claims. If you care the burden is on yourself to provide evidence supporting your claims. I have not made any claims with regards to the situation in Syria. All I have done is asked for evidence. I have never and will never suggest you should or should not believe anyones account of anything.

As I have not made a single claim on the issue this assertion "the evidence is against you" is particularly amusing. My only assertion was what people think or believe or "feel" about a situation is worthless.

Evidence speaks. Feelings, assumptions and hersay go to the trash where they belong.

Whatever, wherever they're from, there is zero proof that Assad murdered those women and children. Then the mercenaries (as you put it) imo, are the one's that still killed them and had the West's blessing in doing so. One reason the US wants war in Syria such as we see; is because Russia has a huge military base there. As with Libya, one reason why NATO went in, was becuase China gets a lot if its oil from Libya. Everything the US does will fail miserably! :)

Correction: For them to be Rebels, they would have to be Syrian. Since they are "For Hire" foreign mercenaries, they are actually Invaders.
