  • Music doesn't get any cooler than this.

  • This sounds a bit BeeGee'ish......Vocal quality, production values, sound....

NO coincidence Farrar and Barry Gibb are the two men who brought out the best in Olivia.

  • There's a song of his that I havent heard since the early 70's, a song called "Rainie on my mind". I'm surprised as it was a great song with some rather catchy guitar licks. Could someone post it? It would be great to hear it again.

  • bien

  • Pop-munster extraordinaire! If you took The Bee Gees,Tom Snow,Steve Kipner, with just a little dash of Kenny Loggins, you'd have John Farrar--plus John Farrar!Just an afterthought--does anyone know Farrar's ethnicity--I know he's from Australia, but he looks sorta Persian and Anglo. another p.s.I can't think offhand where a singer/songwriter/producer sold lotsa records--it seems that the artist records some of the tunes that already were big hits at the time. It's a best kept secret sorta thing.

  • Me three...he's a national treasure..globally......

  • John Farrar is fucking genius!

  • This is my first time hearing this, and I think it's absolutely fantastic. :D Thanks for posting!

  • @jymbuss Although she has since recorded vocals for this version...for her 2006 duets lp, "A Celebration In Song"

  • I REALLY think this song was written for the PHYSICAL album and didn't make the final cut cause it sounds so much like RECOVERY.

Its a GREAT song and I am actually happy at this age that Olivia DID NOT record it...this is truly a tribute to John. It might be the most melodic song he ever wrote.

I can hear Olivia singing this in 1982 - I can hear it on the PHYSICAL LP.

I am sad Olivia never sang it proper (I know she did a fake duet version)
