  • UV STARTED READING THIS DON'T STOP THIS IS SO SCARY PUT THIS ON AT LEAST FIVE VIDEOS IN 143 MINUTES WHEN YOUR DONE PRESS F6 AND YOUR LOVER NAME WILL APPEAR ON THE SCREEN IN THE BIG LETTERS THIS IS SO SCARE CAUSE IT ACTUALL WORKS

  • When Mr.Allsopp said that teacher educator aren't teaching teacher how to teach is very true. We are left out as educator to figure a lot things on our own. I like the fact that he is emphasising on things that needs to happen so the teacher can understand where we are neding improvement.

  • This video was an excellent reminder that reading is not the only problem area in our schools. We have all seen/worked with teachers that were not adequately trained to teach math. The students of these teachers will be lacking important skills when they move to higher grades. They will have to be retaught these skills placing them futher behind their peers.

  • We do often associate the RTI method to reading in the lower grades because that is where most of the emphasis has been. I agree with Mr. Allsopp that more emphasis needs to be placed on the use of data in evaluating instructional practices and the impact it has on student learning.

  • This video states that there is a lack of match between math instruction and the needs of learners. It also states that most teachers are not prepared to teach math because the colleges do not emphasize math pedagogy.

  • This is true in today’s school and even in my local school. They spend at least 3 hours on reading and maybe one on math. I also thought it was interesting that the research for math intervention and struggling students is small in scope. Overall, this video helped me to realize that math is indeed over looked and something should be done about it. There needs to be more research done in order to help the RTI process in terms of mathematics.

  • This video was very interesting to me in several ways. I thought that it was very interesting that he spoke of most teachers not being prepared to teach mathematics. Overall, I feel that this is very true and most teachers who do teach mathematics are indeed only taught in their subject area. They are not actually taught teacher education courses. Another interesting point that was made in the video was that math is avoided by educators because it is just not as important.
