A great night of railfanning after a great four hours of rocking out: three trains each with power from one different class one railroad. All three were filmed at the PECO crossing in West Conshohocken, PA.
Norfolk Southern 67T
21:30 hrs
Stones Loads, Birdsboro PA to Dagsboro, DE
EMD SD70M-2 #2???
EMD SD70M-2 #2???
Coming back from the Haines and Kibblehouse quarry in Birdsboro, 67T carries several H&K hoppers, as well as some gondolas. This as-needed train can normally be spotted at night, as it needs to travel on the AMTRAK NEC/SEPTA Newark Line. I couldn't catch the numbers as the train came streaking down the line. So, if anyone who's seen it know them, you can tell me and I'll make note of it.
Delaware and Hudson 165 - Norfolk Southern 31J - CSX Z483
22:00 hrs
South Philadelphia PA to Binghamton NY
CP SD40-2 #5833
CP AC4400CW #9504
CP GP38-2 #7309
16 Intermodal Platforms (13 loads, 3 empties),
6 actual Intermodal Cars
16 Mixed Merchandise
22 cars total
Carrying a light load out of South Philly, 31J streaks past the PECO crossing, taking the GP38-2 #7309 back to Bingo. It would have been nice to have seen it take the GP9U to work this morning, but a good railfan takes what he can.
CSX Q191
22:05 hrs
Kearney, NJ to South Philadelphia, PA
CSX AC44CW #5107
CSX AC44CW #581
The last train of the night, CSX intermodal Q191 heads west, compass south, towards Port Philadelphia.

  • awesome catches! I agree with dan, its hard to catch all three of these trains!

  • @amtrak939 CSX Q191 and CP 31J are regulars. NS 67V is an as needed train but it seems to run a lot during the spring and summer. So if you get to the Harrisburg East Main Line around 8:00 PM, you could have your own chance at seeing them all.

  • @elirosen1391 the stone facility in De. is almost closed in winter, not that many building and road construction going on then, Sping to early fall is all they do, so they can last up to winter with the amount of stone that they stock pile down there. they other on that uses the ex-CR cars to port Richmend, idk, i only know bout the De. moves because i am modeling the Delmarva Secondary.

  • 3 class railroads on one mainline so very great!

  • Nice shots man, three railroads, one line.
