What I like about this bind off is that it is stretchy but has a clean sleek look to it. Also, it is as fast or perhaps faster than a regular bind off. Some other stretchy bind offs take a lot more time. I encountered this Bind off in Stephen West's Pogona design though I do not believe it is attributed to him. The steps are: K 2 tog tbl and slip over to right needle. Put the stitch back on the left needle and repeat. Sound easy? It is!

  • Yes, you can use the purl method (see video for Ishbel Bind off) and alternate with this one.

  • thank you... i use to knit when i was 6 years old.. i knitted till i was almost murdered off and what ever happened ...i lost all memory.. so its been really upsetting for me.. trying to knit .. and knowing i knew how to... Praise God You All put ur knitting on You Tube for me to learn... whats loop over? also i learned In Italian and French. My grandma could only work in French or Italian.. so theres another dilemma for me and i get so angry and frustrated. Now i can Learn again.. THANK YOU ALL

  • wow the grain of that table is so clearly in focus.

  • I'm still a fairly new knitter and even though you explained it lovely I still have a question. Before you start any decreases do you begin by knitting the first stitch and return it to the left needle or do you just start with the knit 2tog tbl and place the stitch back on left needle? Hope that was clear, if it wasn't just let me know and I'll try to reword it.

  • I tried this on the ribbing on a pair of toe-up socks and while it's easy to do and your video is easy to follow, I didn't find it stretchy AT ALL. It was much tighter than if I had used a larger needle to bind off my stitches.

  • Love it!

  • Thanks so much for sharing. Super easy! I've been trying all kinds of stretchy bindoffs, but they usually flare. You've shown how neat this one is.

  • I do like this bind off, stretchy, easy and fast.

    thank you

  • While I am grateful for your efforts, is there any chance you could re-do it with the focus on the knitting not the grain of the table? The knitting is blurred, the table is not. Than you

  • Does this apply to rib also?
