R&J has been getting trashed a lot recently (past five years) but have been craving a stick so picked up a 2011 EMS 3 pack.

thats a shitty band job! One of my first ever cigars... Loved it! Smelled like apple and honey wood before i light up. I would hope for a better job on quality control especially on a £15.00 stick. I loved the fact how this cigar tingled my lips and tongue towards the end of the smoke!

@1700iDiGuy Yeah finally got myself a dressbox last week and they smell just the same, box code 2010 so things are looking up for RYJ! In my opinion THE best UK based store for cigars is JJ Fox of London, best prices in the UK, amazing customer service and their quality control is fantastic too, check out their website!

@CaptainQuintero Their website looks good, the prices and variety are excellent, my preferred online was Simply Cigars based in london, they check each individual tube, cigar and box before they are posted, cheap postage too and quick, Have a look there. RYJ has got to be the most fruity flavoured cigar brand i have ever tried.

@1700iDiGuy There were for me too until I picked up some of the Flor De Cano Short Robustos, god the box I have is like crushed grapes, insane! I used to have an aged 10box of monte#3 from 2001 and they were like smoking pressed raisins too!

Great review, I am going to revisit the Cano. Many of my customers dont see my problem with them.

Its the new style tubes, they are the bain of our lifes in the shop. Often there is too much cedar inside aswell, some almost double up 75% the way round. I am not a fan of RyJ at all. I have wanted to get into them, but i cant get on thw flavour. I find them flat, dry and often bland. Even a 1997 Cab Tres Petit Corona, was a little better.

@glo0115 Yeah there is no love in the R&J factory anymore. I'm hoping that the 2011 boxes is the start of a new trend, everything from this year that I have tried has been smoking fantastic right out of the box.
