My version of Don's groovy tune. As I found out shooting this vid, it's much harder to play this tune while standing, especially the two-handed tapping parts.

  • Very nice. That intro is pretty damn hard, and could've been clearer, but I assume your problem was having to play it standing up, because your timing and rhythm seemed to be pretty much perfect. :)

  • As CristyS89 said, I should have videotaped this the way I usually play it, sitting down. I actually did about seven takes, and I did the intro/outro better on other takes, but this was the one with the fewest mistakes overall. :)

  • Good tip, thanks. I always play this tune sitting down, but decided to stand for the video ... that's when I discovered the guitar neck was moving back and forth while I was slapping it. Hard to be precise when that happens. I'll try your technique next time.

  • well it's good that you have a strap button on the heel, that helps with playing standing... but why would you play that way if you don't practice that way? you should always play the way you practice

  • Pretty damn good Bruce!!

  • very well done

  • Nice

  • Very Nice!!! I'll have to try that tune one day...

  • I used to have the same Kottke poster. Got it from a record store in the mid-70's (had to talk the guy behind the counter into giving it to me). Long lost now though.....damn.

  • A pleasure to watch as always. One of my favorite tunes by DR. Unfortunately, I always butcher the intro/outro, but the rest of the song is a blast to play. Good work! BTW - Where did you get that Kottke poster in the background???

  • Sweetie I love the white board it's very hi tech, good one!!!
