Nasty Old Dog - you should definitely make a video showing how to make a home made mic. You sound like you know your stuff!

Whats the background music?..good vid bro.

Will a Shure Controlled Magnetic element work on the Blues Blaster? And will it give it a dirtier sound?

I use an astatic JT30 that I customized I have a black lable 99H86 1951 inside I painted it a vintage gold with a 2k chipguard so the paint dont chip.
I also play with a microvox mr mic this has a different tone to it more "RASPY" when in a tight cup I like the way this mic sounds through my sonny jr410 and my harpgear amp.

Thanks for the video - made me take my 1996 Jubilee edition Hohner "Blues Blaster" 1490. mine has a completely different element stamped ASTATIC MC127 into the metal, it is also stamped MC151 in black ink so I dont really know what it is. The element is quite chunky, made of aluminium and there is only room between it and the metal screen for a very thin moisture barrier. My paint hasnt chipped and the chrome is good quality. They have either gone downhill or that one is a fake!!

This is why I bought vintage Astatic 10-C from 1963. And mine was about 1/3 cheaper than BB in Poland! That Blues Blaster element looks very tiny...

The blues blaster mic if you ask me sounds like playing tin a little on the thin side even playing through a sonny jr 410 amp I did not care for this mic it needs a mc151 or 101.
