  • Thanks for the video - made me take my 1996 Jubilee edition Hohner "Blues Blaster" 1490. mine has a completely different element stamped ASTATIC MC127 into the metal, it is also stamped MC151 in black ink so I dont really know what it is. The element is quite chunky, made of aluminium and there is only room between it and the metal screen for a very thin moisture barrier. My paint hasnt chipped and the chrome is good quality. They have either gone downhill or that one is a fake!!

  • @quicktothe4 Bro you Have the early model wich still came with the original Astatic element befor they started useing the crappy ones in the vid it's not a fake it's the model you will get today if you where to go and buy one tomorrow cheers : )

  • This is why I bought vintage Astatic 10-C from 1963. And mine was about 1/3 cheaper than BB in Poland! That Blues Blaster element looks very tiny...

  • I agree B Blaster is not worth a cent if i had 2 i would buy Shure 520DX B4 i bought 1 of these clunkers..vintage is best & cheaper when U can pick up a custom of Ebay 4 $250 US$ or unrestored but working vintage mic 4 way less money..my best score a JT-30 $75 AUS$ 2 my door sold as not working was i a happy boy when i fixed a lose wire & it worked & these junk Blues Blasters are selling 4 $300 + dollars down under Bro..it's sad 2 C what has become of 1 of the best Blues Microphones on earth

  • The blues blaster mic if you ask me sounds like playing tin a little on the thin side even playing through a sonny jr 410 amp I did not care for this mic it needs a mc151 or 101.

  • Ya spot on the money Bro it just don't mater how you try to get tone out of it Pumping up the drive it still sounds thin no lowdown tone i fixed it gave a Play to confirm my thoughts on this mic and you are as i said spot on Bro Ps whats ya mic at the moment let the Brothers know what you like to play through i Have a few Bullets but truly the mic i pick up and play the most at Home is my mic the SK9 Little Honker but still Break out the vintage mics when i don't mind the Neighbours listning in

  • Nasty Old Dog - you should definitely make a video showing how to make a home made mic. You sound like you know your stuff!

  • Whats the background music?..good vid bro.

  • Will a Shure Controlled Magnetic element work on the Blues Blaster? And will it give it a dirtier sound?

  • I use an astatic JT30 that I customized I have a black lable 99H86 1951 inside I painted it a vintage gold with a 2k chipguard so the paint dont chip.

I also play with a microvox mr mic this has a different tone to it more "RASPY" when in a tight cup I like the way this mic sounds through my sonny jr410 and my harpgear amp.
