This is a radio segment I hosted for OutQ (Sirius/XM formerly 109/98 now 108) during their 2010 Year in Review show. It was the first time they had ever included a college perspective in their year end broadcast. We discussed a variety of LGBT issues and how people in our generation viewed them. All participants were Northwestern University students.

  • Hello! I was wondering if you would help support the IT STOPS NOW CAMPAIGN. The it gets better campaign gave thousands in the LGBT community hope but its just not enough anymore. Your support if given is very much appreciated! Thank you so much for reading.

  • @zzzave i'm not familiar with it, could you give me a little more info?

  • Such a good video and alot of great points. but when you started talking about how you talk to your parents about buttsex. I could not stop laughing :) haha :p

  • @Ihateyousomuch001 haha, yeah, they're awesome! thanks :)

  • Wait! I'm not sure if this is to relevant but I'm from England. My whole perspective on the LGBT community is probably a fair bit different than yours. Haha

I still see your point though.

  • @zzzave may be true...i guess i don't know how previous generations were abroad, but i'd say our generation has it together in the general west these days lol

  • It's a more invasive campaign. Hopefully once it kick starts it'll be a more aggressive 'it gets better campaign'. A few YouTubers are already responding to the idea and I'm trying to kind of move it along by spreading the word. RosstorWho had the original idea though.

  • @zzzave Hey no worries. And the Stonewall Girls were this group of cross-dressers who were protesting a police raid on a famous gay bar in NYC. There were riots and everything, and the Stonewall Girls, in protest, did a kickline and started singing protest songs at the police officers. Pretty BA if you ask me haha. I think our sense of pride and community may be different than earlier generations, but isn't necessarily stronger...we just have a different external environment.

  • And I'm sorry if it seemed like I was implying that the previous generation didn't do wonders and also were strong willed. I just believe our particular generation has a stronger sense of pride and of community than previous lgbt activists.

  • I haven't actually. Mind explaining?
