  • You did not mention we need to be immersed in the name of Jesus Christ.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

  • @ObtainTheGlory I hate to telll you this but Mark 16:16 is not found in any of the manuscripts. This was added by the King james translators. The Bible is very clear that Baptism is the result of salvation, not both.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 Says who? God can't protect the word? We can't believe the word? What else is missing? Picking and choosing now I see.

But let's say you are right, we can still prove it's necessary other ways. Paul a perfect example. A believer for 3 days, already had visions of the Lord speaking with him(Acts 9:3-4) He was praying to Jesus (Acts 9:11) He was fasting to Jesus(Acts 9:9) Yet Ananias through the spirit of God tells him to be baptized to wash away his sins still (Acts 22:16)

  • @ObtainTheGlory You are preaching a gospel of works, and Paul is the one who speaks against works for salvation. Ephesians and Galatians is where Paul goes into detail.

Just because the King James Version doesn't have verse 16 doesn't mean God's Word is any less. The oldest manuscripts doesn't have from verse 9 and on. It only means that the translators added to God's Word for which they will pay.

Salvation is not by works, lest any man should boast. Another gospel is anathema!!!

  • @carpentersdaughter2 I'm not putting you in bondage to Law of works in his epistles. I'm preaching the word of God as is. Paul preached baptism(Rom 6. Col 2:12.Gal 3:27) The disciples did it immediately as well. It was no public confession. Or 'works' based as you claim. baptism was administered immediately with urgency and taught with the Gospel message. ref Acts 22:16 . 2:41.16:33. 8:36. 8:12. How did Lydia, Eunuch, and jailer know to be baptized? Jailer middle of night? Why such urgency?

  • @ObtainTheGlory Yes, you are because you are saying that baptism is a requirement for salvation...last time I heard, that is a works based gospel. Like I said baptism is an outward sign that an inward salvation has occured. Jesus didn't require the theif to get down off the cross and be baptised, and told the man that he would see him in paradise that very day.

Paul does not say baptism is a requirement to salvation but because we are saved, we will obey this first command for us as Believers
