HH Prince Aswathi Thirunal is highly grounded when it comes to his personal life and work. I had a brief taste of this through a single email and its quite visible in this interview. Would be very glad if i could meet him one day. A deep sense of respect and affection, at the same time with the awe tht he is a prince. Very well informed a gentleman Prince Rama Varma is.

I do think there are several contemporary artists who, through their travels abroad, use simple descriptive terms to reach out to a wider audience. There are artists who (a) do not try, or (b) use simpler explanations to draw an uninitiated audience (I think there are more of these artists now). I do not come across artists who use technical terms in a demo unless they *know* that the audience is an initiated one.

I am very surprised to see how ill-educated the host was about Rama Varma or Swathi Tirunal or Carnatic music. Aren't they supposed to do *some* research on the guests they are inviting to the show? As for Rama Varma, stellar performance!

Prince Ramavarma is so lovely person,down to earth,I am sure he will get the respect anywhere he goes.Recently,I saw him as a judge,Ragaratnam junior,it is so nice he advise every contestants so lovely manner.Nothing more to say,he is a jem

I second that totally. (I am not Varma ji by the way but a friend of his who has taken it upon himself to bring a bit of Varma ji's music to the rest of the world since he performs so rarely. Please watch Varma Ji's uploads under the user name musique4ever.)
