He was from a middle class Worcester family and was one of the hippies that hung around Elm Park in the late sixties and seventees. The only reason that man became homeless is the result of a head injury he suffered when he slipped and fell off the Providence and Worcester Railroad bridge over the Miss Worcester Diner. He was always bright and well spoken, a great musician and a nice guy. It's nice to see that he was loved and cared for at the end of his life.
@bartamy03 never thought of him as anyone but human and a perfect example of self surviving . He actually helped me once when some rednecks were harassing me ... He was full of love ,life and reality..
what a good dude... i used to see him every day on the street but never really knew his story until after he died. he seemed to really know what was important in life
I saw him on a Red Line subway car on time on roller blades playing his guitar with a battery powered guitar amp in his backpack!
LOL A STATUE?! THIS is the way I want to remember him! Who's the person who did the statues in Davis Sq in Somerville? That sculptor did a statue of the guy who sold flowersnear the Allston toll boths with the sign that said "I am NOT a Moonie!" the statue stands by the (T) entrance on Holland St in Somerville. There's your sculptor!
The only bum I know who offered me money when he thought I might need it! The only bum I know who had his picture on the front page of the paper just for being a great guy!

He actually came from a very wealthy family. His sister was interviewed on the news after his death. He always just did his own thing.
