where did you get this video from?

@phylislg Absolutely correct. English Matron singing Mozart. Now before all Sutherland fans go on rampage... I love Sutherland. But this is an armada sailing and not a girl in love.

@LCN09 You're an idiot. When you have gone out and had even half the carreer that this woman had, then you MIGHT have the right to talk some sh!t. If you don't like this, then listen to something else.

@Richiesutherland I'm a teenager.. and YES I can sing like this!! ..my voice is mature enough.. though you may not believe it, it is. I'm going to go on and do opera for my life.. now the tape might not be in perfect condition.. so that may also help cause the "bad sound" ..though I totally agree with TheAleph74 that Joan S. was older when she sung this and it's not as perfect as it would have been if she were younger!

So un-Mozartain! Ugly performance.

But this is not a staging of the opera, this is a concert, she is simply singing this wonderful aria without claiming to impersonate Susanna.

If we went by who looks a part, you would have the current state of singing (of which, perhaps, you, TheAleph74, are a part?). People who look the roles and can't sing. I would definitely agree that the Sutherland tone was always a bit grandiose for Susanna. THAT'S WHY SHE ONLY SANG THIS ARIA IN CONCERT. Nice to hear it so beautifully sung. Can today's singers, who also DON'T look like teenagers (name me one) sing like this?
