The Cyril Lords 2004 video for No More Good Times, their debut single on Cass Records. Called "the mating call of morons" by Kim Fowley, this piece captures a great creative collaboration between the band (Marty "Mother" Morris, Sean Ellwood, and Mayuko) and the then up-and coming co-directors, Nick Hill and Rich Hansen. An homage to Godard's Contempt, the video was shot on Super 16mm film in a Mid-town Detroit apartment for very, very cheap.
Among the unluckiest of all the Detroit bands from that era, the Cyril Lords split up in 2006 after their van and all of their gear was stolen. Morris went on to form SSM among other side-projects, while Elwood joined Outrageous Cherry and Fancy Space People, and Mayuko went on to play with the likes of the Gore Gore Girls and Radio Moscow.
