I've started on the process of making my monofin. There is still some work to do on it, but thought I'd show it to you, and my semi-finished dry-land mermaid tail.

I'm hoping to eventually create a spandex swimmable tail, but first I want to finish the monofin and make sure it works good.

  • its a good tail but i dont think that the tails very good because you cdant swim in it. wHAT R U GONNA DO WATCH H2O WITH IT ON? sorry i pressed caps1

  • @IfrickenAccept

It actually wasn't designed to swim in. I bought cheap material just to practice with before I worked on the actual tail. I'm not too comfortable with sewing, etc, so didn't want to buy expensive material and mess it up.

  • NEVER use plexiglass! It will break with any pressure and if you are using it in the water when it breaks you could possibly cut yourself. Never ever ever use plexiglass to make a monofin!

  • @Burnouthappy

There have been other people that have used it, but i think it depends on the flexibility and thickness..but ya, i have no plans on making my own for now.

  • But... You use monofins or 2 fins?

  • @kanariaisha

Since the fin I was making broke, I'm hoping to purchase an actual monofin from finis.

  • i never do this!!!!!

  • @accepted3 , youre not supposed to use plexiglass. thats extremely dangerous and it will shatter with pressure. you should use FIBERGLASS, which is what a lot of professional monofins are made out of. its flexible but strong, and wont break as easily.

  • pretty:)

  • its very good <3

  • Cool tail

  • @xiloveyouedwardx

If you make your own, you can. I'm not sure how well it would work to cut an already made monofin.
