This error started the day I got my new iPad.
It's caused by the SIM card I got from Telus.
Any time you turn on the iPad in about 10 seconds, you get 3 messages (black screen) "Your sim card sent you a message". The 4th one is the actual "message" which is "Me Returned A Temporary Error".
Lots of instances of this online in a Google search, all involving Telus.
I spoke with them a couple of times and they said "it's a known issue, and Apple is working on it".
I spoke at length with some helpful Apple tech support people, who informed me that Apple has never heard of this!
It seems Telus was telling a story. Though the issue is not the end of the world, it's certainly annoying.
@starspree
No "solution" yet. Talked to Telus a couple more times, with a "it's something to do with the SIM cards trying to authenticate with the network over and over...." but that's it.
Interestingly, with the latest iPad software update to 4.2, I see that the "your sim card sent you a message" repeats don't occur. Just the actual "me returned a temporary error" actual text message shows. Maybe Telus tried to fix something?
