Dragon's Lair Completed Game Boy

Dragon's Lair: The Legend. Usa Version. Game Boy. Fast Mode. Played with VisualBoy Advance 1.7.2. No tools, cheats, autofire, re-recording or save states were used.

Oh man, this is probably one of the hardest platform games ever made. It's even harder than the Nes version. The game's setting has nothing to do with Dragon's Lair because this is a port of a Spectrum game called Roller Coaster released in 1985. The screens are the same, but the sprites are different.

The original game is probably one of the hardest games ever made. I think that is impossible to beat without rollback or cheats. This version is easier, thank God.

You have to collect 194 pieces of gold, or lifestones in order to beat the game, and that's it. The only thing you can do is jumping, no dragon's, no swords, no princesses, just bizarre flying things.

Almost everything wil kill you instantly, but some spikes won't kill you at the moment. Instead they hurt you until you die. In the original game there was some kind of health bar, but here's invisible. Anyway, if you move into a different screen, all the damage will disappear. You need perfect timing for all the jumps, especially in the mine cart segments.

One thing that should be stated is that the European version is easier, as falling from a great height won't kill you. There are other things which make the game easier, I will state them in the captions.

And well, there's not much more to say. This is probably the hardest game I've uploaded along with Indiana Jones (Hard) and Ramon Rodriguez.

The game's not really good, but I like difficult games, and this is one of the best if you like challenges.

Thanks a lot! I must confess that this is probably one of the hardest games I have uploaded in my channel. It is a rip off from a Spectrum game called Rollercoaster, which is EVEN HARDER than this one. Games were quite hard back then. I don't believe that anyone has beaten Rollercoaster without cheats or rollback. You should challenge your friends on this one better, they will get mad, haha. Regards!

Pues eso que comentas se debe a que en realidad este es otro juego llamado Rollercoaster, y que salió para Spectrum. Cogieron la base y cambiaron los sprites, de ahí que el juego sea tan raro y no parezca pegar con el mundo de Dragon's Lair. Evidentemente, ambos juegos son de la misma compañía, que se ve que estaban vagos ese día, jaja.

For years. Years. I wondered how to beat this game as a child. I made it to the last screens going both "ways" in the beginning (keep in mind that I was a VERY determined 8 or 9 year old) and collected almost every single stupid fucking lifestone I could. But I couldn't win. No matter what I couldn't win. But now I know. Now I know why. I skipped maybe THREE lifestones. This was the game that ruined my childhood.

I'm amazed that you could get so far being so young. This an incredibly frustrating and difficult game. I needed a lot of practice and tries to be able to beat it. I don't think that too many people could beat the game when they bought it back then.

I'm sorry to read your story, what a pity that you couldn't make it. The ending is crap, but that feeling of having completed the game is a unique experience. You should try to beat it now and get this game off your back :)

Se nota que esta mierda no tenía absolutamente NADA que ver con el dragon't lair original. Que pena que hayan hecho esto a los que se hicieron ilusiones pensando que sería un juego de animación :( al parecer ya lo había hecho también con el nintendo NES, pero al menos ese si tenía uno que otro parecido, por lo menos jugabar con dirk y no con un sprite genérico xD
