I saw Ian at the Hammersmith Odeon in '79 on the DIY tour when I was 16. As a rock fan who has been to many gigs, I have to say it was the best gig I've ever been to. I'll never forget when the Blockheads started playing this song at the start of the gig, then a few bars in, Ian walked on, and the whole place erupted, fantastic! RIP Ian.

We saw his penultimate at the Warwick Arts Centre in Coventry. They played brilliantly and I've never ever not ever never ever! seen such appreciation from the audience. I think everyone was on their feet at the end of the gig stamping and showing respect.
