I have bought .....

a Louis Vuitton LVOE Tote MM, Model M95467 in khaki color when it was first released in June 15, 2007. I phone ordered it from the store in Ala Monoa shopping center in Honolulu. The very next day I received the bag in the mail. Everything was fine at this point. The bag looked good and fit my expectation. To make the story short, after a month after purchase, I took out the bag for a night out, immediately I noticed there are orange spots all over the front of my bag. See photos for spots. At that moment, I was shocked and said to myself what I have done. Well, I haven't done anything wrong since I did what most of LV owners did. I take good care of my bags and always keep them in their dust bags. No second thought, I gave a call to the store in the Ala Monoa center in Honolulu. The answer I got was they couldn't do anything since they are so far away from where I am and they suggested I bring the bag to the San Francisco Louis Vuitton Store. Ok, I brought the bag to the store the very next day to the Leather good manager. She was very helpful by sending the bag to the repair factory in the Northern California and promised to call me within two weeks. But, I didn't get the call from them four weeks later which is ok for me because I know this thing takes time. I was so upset because after all the waiting and spent over $600, the call back I got was saying that the bag is totally fine and the stain was due to some water spilled on it. That is totally unacceptable and ridiculous. So, I told them on the phone I will call back after the holiday and talk to the leather good manager. I want to make myself clear that I am not asking for any refund. All I am asking is to have a brand new bag.

  • sorry, have to say I would never pay the LV price for a cloth bag. I would stick with their monogram canvas or leathers.

  • You will not be able to reverse the damages caused by bleach.

  • HI I just read this today and I didn't realise that LV bags can be that bad a quality.... Maybe , I should reconsider and get another brand instead.... hmmm...

  • This happened to you years ago, but I am only now watching your video. This is certainly an unfortunate thing. It is also unfortunate that Louis Vuitton is not responsible. Did you inspect the bag when you got it? If so, then 'something' happened after you received it. There is no way L-V can do anything. Even if you say you didn't even open the bag. How would they know? It is so sad. It's not that noticeable so, I hope you're using it. It's still a pretty tote...

  • I can understand your anguish.

Did they not always tout how fine the quality their products are?

Yet this discolouration is completely their fault; you didn't even do anything to it.

So to be angry and expect a replacement is completely understandable.

I do not get what some of the posters said about not buying a fabric bag.

Does it mean a fabric bag is of lousy quality, even if it's made by Louis Vuitton?

If so, then we shall all heed their advice and not spend money on their lousy products.

  • not the dream bag you hoped hey. Better, there are many bags on sale, you might have one that does not discolor. May I ask what is so special with LV bags? supermakets give bags for free everyday LOL.

  • That's an ugly LV bag and also just stick it in the washer w/some oxyclean- it's a cloth bag!

  • Louis Vuitton bags don't have super human abilities! They get F'd up like all other bags if you abuse them.

  • Wow, this really sucks about the canvas lvoe bag. I've heard similar stories regarding these totes. Depending on how they import/export cloth type items, they sometimes spray the outside crates to prevent criters from chewing the items they're shipping.

  • I bought a Louis Vuitton Speedy from the Saks Fifth Avenue Louis Vuitton Boutique in Atlanta Phipps Plaza. A month after having it, little breaks could be seen around the zipper. Talked to Vuitton customer service in San Fran and they were so nasty I got the address to LVMH in France to try getting results. Ended up getting Assistant GM at Saks to give me a refund. I'll never buy another Louis.
