Im the worse man i ever thought i would be and my heart has given up on christianity. Although i do pray every morning it feels like itsall in vain. I mean when was the last time i weeped over my sin HAHA dont think i ever have. Im god awful And i aggree about the baptists i grew up both families were baptist and they never once prayed with me told me about jesus, i prayed on friday nights b4 football games as we all took a knee and out trainer led us in the lords prayer. Whatever sins you have, forsake them and set your eyes upon Jesus Christ. Turn from your own ways, and rely on the sweet Saviour, He will give you a new heart.

I think i had some resentment towards christ and god after i was treated badly from those who went to church whom i assumed were christians and they treated me badly for decades and the lie they practised is still decieveing others involved today. Well i admit im awful thats still why i pray everyday thinking god will turn things around

@samhobson30 I'm sorry to hear you have gone through a tough time. Maybe you were treated badly there, but the fact of the matter is you still need Jesus Christ.

It comes through acknowledging your sins, and then completely trusting upon the Savior. I was a vile, wretched sinner. God set me free completely from habitual sins, and day by day I grow in the Lord.

"So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." (Jn 8:36)

Ezekiel 18:21 says, "But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die." If someone is going to teach one must turn from sins to be saved, he must teach that they must turn from ALL of them to be saved; yet, no one has. More importantly, no one has kept all of God's statues (His commandments). According to 1 John 1:8-10, Paul Washer is a liar.

@bibleword I don't think he's saying the cause of your salvation is that you've turned from sin. Rather if you are saved, then you will turn from your sins.

Being saved leads directly to forsaking sin. If the second one hasn't happened, how can the first?

Why haven't more people listened to this one? Why don't more ministers preach like this? they say the people would hate it and leave the church. I say amen. But the true believers will be attracted to the truth and people will actually get true conversion once they cast off their false assurance and false conversions from a decision or prayer accepting Jesus, instead of repenting by grace and believing so much they live according to the word and Jesus is Lord.

There you go again--NO SCRIPTURES. All that you have said is from your own head and not from the Word Of God. A perfect example of this is your statement: "They have no real relationship because they have quenched the spirit." This is utterly a FALSE precept. You CANNOT "quench" the Spirit of God unless you HAVE the Spirit of God! Only true believers can "quench" the Spirit of God. (Romans 8:9) (1Thes. 5:19)

If you will STUDY the Book of James, you will find out that "faith without works is dead", is NOT talking about salvation. Again, you pick and chose those things that seem to support your false teaching, when in reality a thorough study of the BOOK proves just the opposite. James says we are "justified by works" BEFORE MAN. 'shew me' (James 2:18) Man must have "works" to prove to him (man) that he is "justified". God sees the heart; man cannot! I admonish you get back to the scriptures!

We are to "hate every false way". Don't hide behind this phony love facade when challenged about your doctrine. Paul said those who teach false doctrine that they should be "cut off"-put to death by God. Gal.5:12. Paul preached about a specific "fornication" to deliver over "to satan for the destruction of the flesh". Why do you continue to deny what THE SCRIPTURES say about GRACE salvation and run off to billy graham? (who has denied fire in hell and that Jesus is not the only way to heaven)

The very fact you feel this way about your sin is abundant proof that you ARE SAVED. You are grieved because the Spirit of God inside is grieved. USE THE SCRIPTURES TO ANALIZE YOUR SITUATION. Don't listen to these people here that don't use the Bible as proof. Stay in the Epistles of Paul for your doctrine for Salvation, especially the books of Romans, Ephesians, Galatians, Phillipians. These nail down salvation by GRACE, and NOT THE LAW. Your spirit is bearing witness with God's. (Rom. 8:16)

@locustweed And those sins that we haven't eradicated on our own or with God's help are covered by his grace, praise God! But whoa to those who blatantly sin, don't try to live right and continuously crucify Christ. They have no real relationship because they have quenched the spirit. The Bible says it would have been better for them had they not known the truth. wow!

Faith without works is dead. The works are a natural outgrowth of the relationship within. No relationship, no works. God is not mocked. Try seeing your spouse just once a year, and professing your love to them, see how that works out. It is either real or it is fake and your actions will show the truth of the relationship.

@locustweed Where is your Christian love? You judge me? That is God's domain. Does that make you equal to God? That was Satan's sin. Repentence is mentiond several times in the Bible and was taught as part of the salvation process by millions. Billy Grahm, The Lay Instititue for Evangelism with their 4 Spititual Laws booklets, etc. A discussion of the many verses on repentence would be a profitable thought process, not calling fellow believers in salvation thru Christ false prophets.

NOWHERE are the unsaved commanded to repent of YOUR SINS in order to be saved. Jesus said to "repent" for the kingdom of God was at hand. He NEVER said to "repent of your SINS". METANOEO (repent) is two Greek words META-"change" NOEO- "the mind". Lost sinners are not required to "STOP SINNING" as part of God's plan Salvation. Teaching this is making good WORKS the Savior from si, and not Jesus alone. All works are powerless to deliver anyone from hell. You are a false prophet denying Jesus.
