quicker too. but i think a lot of people overlook the fact that the courts were so much faster back then...slow courts neutralize your skill...ie: ability to take the ball on the rise...its a shame

Federer was quick then. What skills.

You don't need to be sorry. I don't totally disagree with your summary of Nadal's game, but he has more than speed and power to his game, even if you can' see it. Your right though that hitting the ball super fast and accurate will beat him, as Djokovic had shown this year. But thats not easy, Djokovic has become almost super human this year. Nadal will need to play more aggressively if he's to stay number 1.

@SamCoreJ sorry pal, just speed and power. He stays 10 feet BEHIND the baseline to return serves. So his strategy is to run much more, hit the ball much harder and waits for his opponents to make more errors. You need to hit the ball superfast (and accurate, of course) in order to beat Nadal's negative tactics. When del Potro won the US Open, I thought he would the right guy to do this. But then he gets 2 injuries and still finds his way back into the top 10.

aah good old days when the surface was so quick, with 2 of the best players taking the ball so early and hitting it clean as a whistle. ...
these days its so different with the surface so slow, and ball bouncin so much ...

Does Nadal use any skill do you think though? Mentally he's not bad hey? And is his timing any good? Or is it just speed and power? I think we know there is more than just speed and power to Nadal.

Federer has the imagination and the skills to do things that other players can only dream of. Nadal only uses his speed and power. The current Federer completely forgets his backhands, and is 10 times slower. Yet, he still manages to be among the top 3 players.

Andre Agassi a sith lord? Never. He defeated the reigning Sith Lord at Wimbledon in 2001, Pete Sampras, and then went down the dark path. Andre was one of the many Jedi Masters Darth Federer would slay over his dark career.
