Inside the church, there are countless programs for recovery and counseling targeted to the ill, the afflicted, the abused, the addicted and those struggling in various areas of their lives.

But recovery outside of religious programs (and organizations like Alcoholics Anonymous) often gets little attention, despite the fact that the challenges (and solutions) are human ones, and the success stories are often much more compelling.

This show is about overcoming. No deity required.

Special guest in the first half hour is Dr. Darrel Ray, psychologist, former Christian and author of "The God Virus: How Religion Affects Our Lives and Culture."

Warning us to stay away from delicious bacon? Truly a malicious god if I've ever heard of one.

Hearing about that poor girl getting abused as a child and the tears in her voice as she was telling the story made my blood boil. I'm not a violent person by nature, but when I hear about defenseless being abused I'm ready for extreme violence.

"Most atheists become atheist because they had bad experiences." And How about the people who were born in secular countries? I was born and raised in france, from non-believer parents and never had a religious educations. I was told about christianity, judaïm, islam, hinduism and even Bouddhism, but I always had the choice, and i'm a very happy persons, without any religions or belief. My parents were not well educated, but they were open-minded : we don't need to be traumatized to be atheist.

You know what. I give up. You don't understand my point fully but I guess that is partly to do with the fact that we aren't conversing in real life.

I just explained this. Apparently I cannot just tell you, or you just do not want to think that I could be correct. Science is how we know, logic is using what we know.

No. You do not need science to work out that you had a greatx8 grandfather. And unless the body of your greatx8 grandfather has been dug up and dna tested, it has no scientific evidence.
