She is a spellbinding and gregarious performer whose passion for dance amazes audiences everywhere. As founder and director of the Award winning Sahlala Dancers, Jillina pulls from a strong background in Jazz, Ballet, and Hip Hop to create a colorful Middle Eastern and world fusion repertoire. Her talents have taken her around the world to Japan, Aregentina, U.K., Europe, Taiwan, Brazil, Monaco, Canada, Germany, Paris, Ireland, and Egypt.
Jillina has won numerous awards from IAMED and the Giza Academy, including Best Modern Egyptian Dancer, Best Instructional Video, Best Dance Company and Dancer of the Year.
Jillina choreographed and directed the Bellydance Super Stars and Desert Roses concert at the world famous "Follies Bergere" in Paris and due to its success returned in the Fall of 2005. Recently, Jillina returned from a successful three month run in Monte Carlo with the Bellydance Super Stars and Desert Roses at the famous "Monte Carlo Casino", as well as numerous sold out workshops and concerts through out Europe.

This is one of my favorite superstars performances. Everything about it is just perfect. The costume, the live music, the dancing... it shows people what bellydance is about without lots of flash, a smoke machine, annoying closeups, props in the foreground, etc. If we assume people cannot enjoy our dance form for what it is and we distract them with flash, how will we ever know if they can or not?
