  • A Cuban official just told me that 25 more Kiribati students are going for medical training

  • Hi Snafu - yes all the students in this video and this class are from Kiribati (though they are in a college with 200 other students from Timor Leste) and they wrote the song, in Spanish, although they have only been learning Spanish for nine months

  • Cuba's medical & education aid is a shining example of global solidarity - what a contrast to US & Australian aid which is largely a subsidy to business interests in their own rich countries!

  • Kiribati students have historically travelled widely to undertake studies. This trend was noticed in the early 70s when Kiribati students studied in many other Pacific countries. In Tonga for example, they established very well with the Mormon Church College (Liahona) and later with the Atenisi College. I am not at all surprised to find that Kiribati students are now doing studies in Cuba.

  • this video is very touching and it makes me feel proud of my country Kiribati. i also thought of Cuba as an unpleasant place to be but im totally wrong. keep it up IK's and thank you Cuba

  • OMG why do I-Kiribati have to travel half the world away to study medicine. Literally, south pacific students study medicine either in Fiji, NZ, or Australia. The Pacific pretty much does it stuff amongst its neighbours. This is so new especially all the way to Cuba, how different,eh.

  • Lovely video.

  • Looks like the Solomon Islands will be sending 50 students to Cuba to study medicine. Wow, what I tell ya, next thing it'll be another pacific islands medical school/university located in Cuba. Its all good though, considering significant shortage of local doctors in the islands. I just hope that Cuban graduates do not bring back any communist ideals or ideology. Communists don't believe in God. Go with God my pacific island friends and I sincerely wish you well in your ambitions to be great.
