Because he's creating drama, not propaganda. You should appreciate the fact that he treats the gay couples in his shows no differently than writers have presented gay couples is soaps and dramas over the years. It's not his job to give you pretty postcard happy endings, it's his job to create characters that you care about as they go through the ringer. If you want them to be fulfilled and having sex all the time, go write slash fiction, but leave him alone.

but i don't agree with you ^^i think RTD should be thanked and even more for the wonderfull charachter he gave life to and hoe great they are/ become and i think that happy couple are actually pretty anoying after a few season, i'm not a big fan of ianto/jack ( i love jack free ^^) but for Brian and justin i think we know now all about them, how they have change with time ( espacially Brian) and a more happy ending would have been somehow wrong....
