One of Canadas primary search and rescue (SAR) aircrafts, the CC-115 Buffalo will fly in almost any weather. The agile Buffalo can take off and land on even the most rugged terrain and in areas as short as a soccer field.

All six Canadian Forces CC-115s are employed by 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron out of Comox, BC. The squadron is responsible for an SAR zone stretching from the BCWashington border to the Arctic, and from the Rocky Mountains to 1200 km out over the Pacific Ocean. With a maximum load of 2727 kg—or 41 fully equipped soldiers—the Buffalo has an operational range of 2240 km.

  • Brazil has recently retired the Buffalo from service.

Canada, and many other countries, still have the Buffalo in service.

  • my unlce works on that plane : P ive only been in it once hes a lucky bastard lol

  • nice

  • Actually, Bombardier sold the rights and tools to build all of their aircraft prior to the DHC-8 (Dash-8) to Viking Air of Victoria, BC. Viking has already started to build new Twin Otters, and is bidding an upgraded Buffalo to the canadian government.

  • TheBuffalo is a great aircraft, the reason a lot of countries are retiring them is cause the company that built them (De Havilland Canada) no longer exists, but since it was canadian built a company called bombardier just recently began making the same planes DHC did

  • grande bufalo!!!!!!!!saudades aqui no brasil pela FAB!!!!!!!
